4–5 cucumbers, sliced
1 cup water
4 cups vinegar
1/2 cup non-iodized salt

Instructions
- Combine the dill, garlic, and pickling spices in a mixing bowl.
- Divide the mixture among 4 to 5 clean pint-sized jars.
- Place one piece of the hot pepper into each jar.
- Pack the sliced cucumbers tightly into the jars, leaving a little headspace.
- Bring the water, vinegar, and salt to a boil, stirring until the salt dissolves.
- Carefully pour the hot brine over the cucumbers, covering them completely.
- Seal the jars and refrigerate. Allow the pickles to develop flavor for several weeks before serving.
