How to make Baked Apples

It’s very straightforward. Core your apples (you can use a corer or a sharp knife) and keep the skins on. Place the cored apples in an ovenproof dish.

Fill your apples before baking

Fill each apple with oats, sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with honey. If you have extra oats, scatter them around the apples in the dish. Add a little water to the base of the dish to keep them moist while baking.

The details

If you’re following slimming plan rules, you may need to count the fruit. This is an approximate breakdown based on the original recipe:

  • One eating apple (e.g. Pink Lady): 2.5 Syns
  • Oats: 30g for 2 apples (counts as roughly 1/2 Healthy B)
  • Honey: 1 teaspoon per apple (approx. 1 Syn)
  • Estimated total per apple: about 3.5 Syns + 1/2 Healthy B

These are estimates — adjust to fit your plan.
